No Ske'd 'Um, Go Get'Um! is the saying around here. It's my way of letting all my students know that there should be nothing stopping them from being successful! Take that chance and be the success that they are meant to be!
Hula is a great cultural connection to our past, our kupuna...a great way for us to remember who have paved the way for us today!
Halau Na Pua Mai Ka Lani is our name. Translating into "The Many Different Flowers from Heaven."It is said that our last reigning Queen Lili'iuokalani favored the children, calling them the flowers (Na Pua) of Hawaii. It is from that saying, I named my Halau. Starting in June 2002. To this day, i am very honored to be a teacher of the Hawaiian Dance and Culture. I, myself have trained and/or attended classes under various Kumu Hula, culminating with my 'Uniki as an Olapa under Kimo Alama Keaulana. I am truly grateful to all Na Kumu Hula that have guided me to this point. Truly and honored.
